Job summary

Hartwig, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Engineer to keep CNC machines running at peak performance. Based in the Peoria, IL area, you will repair, install and troubleshoot CNC equipment, traveling to customer sites within roughly three hours from home with occasional overnight stays.

You will use service software and tools to diagnose issues, propose modifications, and train customers on proper operation. The company provides a comprehensive benefits package and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• 4 years of demonstrated mechanical and electrical experience.
• Experience repairing CNC machines (Preferred).
• Formal education or training in troubleshooting, repair and installation of CNC Machines (Preferred).
• Ability to work independently, a go getter that finds the next customer that needs our help.
• Good driving record and valid driver's license to ensure fleet vehicle insurability.
• Dependable time management.

Responsibilities

• Conducts high quality, efficient and timely repair and installation of CNC machines.
• Uses software and electrical tools to find damaged work parts and identifies permanent solutions to repair CNC machines and accessories.
• Recommend modifications and improvements to CNC machines, equipment and processes.
• Trains and instructs customers on service, repair and proper installation.
• Traveling to customer sites, usually within 3 hours from home, with occasional overnight travel.
• Ability to complete necessary tasks in our service software and timecard system on a daily basis.

Job description

A Field Service Engineer contributes to the success of Hartwig by keeping our customers' CNC machine tools running at peak operating levels by performing repairs. The customers we serve are in a variety of industries and rely on our team to repair, inspect and troubleshoot their equipment.

Main responsibilities of this full-time role based in Peoria, IL area include:

• Conducts high quality, efficient and timely repair and installation of CNC machines
• Uses software and electrical tools to find damaged work parts and identifies permanent solutions to repair CNC machines and accessories
• Recommend modifications and improvements to CNC machines, equipment and processes
• Trains and instructs customers on service, repair and proper installation
• Traveling to customer sites, usually within 3 hours from home, with occasional overnight travel
