Job summary

ESAB is seeking a Field Service Engineer to lead on-site commissioning, diagnostics, maintenance, and lifecycle support for advanced CNC cutting systems across the United States. You will troubleshoot electromechanical, drive, and software challenges, perform preventive maintenance, and train customer technicians at manufacturing facilities, shipyards, and heavy fabrication plants.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical trade certificate required.
• 2–5+ years of hands-on field service experience.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, ladder logic, and mechanical blueprints.
• Demonstrated commitment to OSHA, LOTO and NFPA 70E safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose electromechanical systems and CNC drive components on-site.
• Lead installation, alignment, parameter configuration, and test cuts.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance to maximize uptime.
• Provide training to customer technicians on safety and operation.
• Document Field Service Reports with root-cause analysis and actions.
• Advise on BOMs and retrofit/upgrade roadmaps.
