Job summary

EMAG is seeking an experienced field service engineer to lead on-site installation, commissioning, and validation of EMAG machine tools across North America with frequent international assignments. You will diagnose PLCs, HMIs, drives, and electrical subsystems, configure Siemens platforms, and train customers while delivering comprehensive service reports.

The role requires 5+ years in industrial controls, a related degree or Journeyman credential, and willingness to travel 70–90% of the time.

Qualifications

Associate or Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or related (preferred).
Journeyman Electrician credential or equivalent industrial electrical experience accepted in lieu of degree.
At least 5 years in industrial controls, machine tool service, automation, or electrical commissioning.

Responsibilities

Own on-site installation, commissioning, and validation of EMAG machine tools.
Diagnose and repair PLCs, HMIs, drives, sensors, motors, and subsystems.
Configure Siemens SINUMERIK, SIMATIC PLCs, TIA Portal, STEP 7, WinCC.
Lead startups: verification, I/O checks, safety validation, and testing.
Use schematics and test equipment to resolve issues.
Refine PLC logic, HMI screens, parameters, and control configurations.
Run acceptance tests and guide customers through buy-off.
Train maintenance and operators in operation, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
Deliver remote technical support and coordinate with teams.
Document work: reports, findings, corrective actions, and recommendations.
Support upgrades, retrofits, and software enhancements.
Operate safely and represent EMAG professionally.
