The Opportunity
Are you ready to power the future? Join Hitachi Energy as a Field Service Engineer and be part of the groundbreaking SunZia HVDC link transmission project in the Southwest USA. This role offers a unique chance to work on high voltage direct current (HVDC) technology, connecting wind farms in New Mexico to the power grid in Arizona and Southern California. You'll receive comprehensive training in HVDC systems, collaborate with senior engineers, and play a crucial role in commissioning and servicing HVDC converter stations. How You'll Make an Impact
Prepare technical deliverables and schedules.
Develop control and protection (C&P) software applications for HVDC.
Participate in progress review meetings.
Collaborate with team members across various fields.
Produce wiring and connection diagrams.
Prepare instructions for test records (ITRs).
Support laboratory testing and factory system testing (FST).
Engage in all commissioning and service activities.
Your Background
Degree in electrical, mechanical, or network engineering (preferably with a power system concentration).
Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
Good knowledge of related products and electrical standards (ANSI, CSA, CEI, etc.).
Strong communication, leadership, and initiative skills.
Critical thinking and analytical abilities.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
Proficiency in computer tools required for engineering tasks.
Availability to travel within the US and abroad.
