Job Description Summary
The Field Service Engineer 2 for BD Pyxis Dispensing Devices is responsible for independently providing efficient and effective field service support to all BD dispensing customers within a designated territory. This includes service and repair, preventative maintenance, calibration, installations, and limited cross-functional support for Sales and Implementation teams.

Position Details
This is a remote, field-based position requiring daily travel within the Houston, TX area. Candidates should reside within a 30-mile radius of Houston. A company vehicle is provided, with up to 5% overnight travel expected. A valid driver’s license is required. Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate.

Accountabilities

  • Provide remote and on-site technical support for BD Pyxis automated dispensing systems in healthcare facilities within the region.
  • Respond to work orders, diagnose issues, and resolve hardware/software problems, maintaining ownership and documentation of all activities.
  • Implement preventive maintenance, support sales and implementation teams, and perform other support activities.
  • Demonstrate competency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Ensure timely and efficient field services, including installations, repairs, calibration, and sales support.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all field activities and expenses.
  • Engage in ongoing training to enhance product knowledge and skills, aiming for career advancement within 3-5 years.
  • Adhere to corporate procedures and policies, including customer complaint handling and Medical Device Reporting.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent Hardware/Software/IT background
  • 24x7 on-call experience in a customer-facing environment
  • Experience with computer electronics, Windows OS, and networks
  • Medical device or electromechanical device service/repair experience
  • Customer Support Certification
  • Hospital pharmacy technician or Bio-Med experience is a plus
  • Ability to work independently within established processes
  • Valid driver's license and adherence to safety standards

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift objects up to 70 lbs.
  • Operate powered and manual tools
  • Perform manual tasks and reach over extended periods
  • Drive distances up to 6 hours, including in adverse weather

BD values on-site collaboration, typically requiring at least 4 days in-office per week, with flexibility for remote roles. Employment may be contingent on COVID-19 vaccination proof, subject to accommodations.
