Job summary

Dell Technologies is seeking a Field Service Engineer 2 to join our Field Service team in Ellendale, North Dakota. You will provide on-site installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting, delivering exceptional customer service and technical support.

The role requires 5+ years of field service experience, customer-facing skills, and expertise with networking and server hardware. Travel to client sites and lifting heavy components may be involved; certifications are desired.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in technical Field Services.
• Experience delivering technical Field Services at client sites.
• Experience in a customer facing role, reporting and presenting to all levels of the organization.
• Experience working in locations with large deployments of assets and experience with networking and Fiber.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs waist high to replace components on server stacks.
• Dell EMC Proven Professional Specialist Level certification (CPSD, Server) is desirable.
• CompTIA certifications (Tech+, A+, Security+, Network+) and CCNA or equivalent are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Triage issues with direction from Dell support.
• Execute plan of action from Dell Domain Engineer/L3 with Teams, Email, and Phone.
• Document POA results, logs and service report to Dell via case email.
• Reseating, swapping or replacing parts, upgrading firmware as needed.
• Perform server tests and validation by running diagnostics and capturing logs.

Responsibilities

What you’ll achieve

As a Field Service Engineer, you will collaborate with peers, apply technical expertise, diagnosis tools and analytical practices to resolve customer issues, taking care of our customers by delivering outstanding on-site support and creating a great customer experience.

You will:

• Triage issues with direction from Dell support
• Execute plan of action from Dell Domain Engineer/L3 - (communicate using Teams, Email, and Phone)
• Document POA results, logs and service report (parts numbers/PPID of old/new parts replaced) to Dell via case email
• Reseating parts, swap or replace parts, upgrading firmware as needed
• Sever testing and validation (running diagnostics, capturing & uploading logs)

Essential Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional experience, plus either an Associate's Degree in a technical discipline OR an equivalent combination of professional experience and education
• Experience delivering technical Field Services supporting hardware and software at client sites
• Experience in a customer facing role, including successfully reporting and presenting to all levels of the organization
• Experience working in locations where client has a large, concentrated deployment of assets and experience with networking and Fiber
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs waist high to replace components on the server stacks

Desirable Requirements:

• Dell EMC Proven Professional Specialist Level certification (1 or more: CPSD (Converged, Hyper Converged) and Server (PowerEdge)
• Industry certificationsCompTIA Certifications: Tech+, A+, Security+, Network+, etc. and Networking certifications CCNA or equivalent

Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $72,000 - $89,000.
