Our Field Service Engineer II is responsible for the quality service of Spacelabs products and for customer satisfaction within an assigned territory. Working under supervision, the engineer performs duties in compliance with established procedures, applying excellent technical and communication skills to positively interact with customers and company personnel. Successful candidates will be self‑starters who can manage their time and schedules independently and possess analytical, technical abilities and basic business acumen.

Field based position covering all of South Carolina, the northern part of Georgia (to Augusta) and part of North Carolina. 75% travel, mainly driving.

Responsibilities
  • Achieve annual revenue goal by promoting sales of service contracts, billable services, and Spacelabs products and offerings.
  • Support Regional Service Manager and region in achieving assigned operating profit goals.
  • Install approved equipment upgrades and modifications in accordance with technical documents and publications.
  • Install and relocate Spacelabs products per policies, procedures, and approved technical documents and publications.
  • Assist in on‑the‑job training of all regional new hires before and after new hire training.
  • Mentor new FSEs as required.
  • Pursue new training to keep up with technological changes.
  • Perform all assigned preventive maintenance, performance audits, and remedial maintenance, and provide necessary records to hospitals and Regional Service Manager.
  • Respond to all assigned customer service calls and apply corporate policy guidelines.
  • Submit accurate and complete reports on expenses, timecards, and service reports promptly.
  • Prepare service contract quotes in coordination with RSM and Contract Administration.
  • Support sales efforts by assisting with equipment demonstrations and clinical evaluations.
  • Assist sales with pre‑sale configurations and consultation as required.
  • Control and maintain assigned Spacelabs assets per policies and directions and act as liaison with technical support for product introduction, evaluation, and major troubleshooting assignments.
  • Successfully complete all Spacelabs product training.

  • Report quality problems or defects to manager or senior management for corrective action.
  • Adapt to changes in duties as needed.
Qualifications
  • Associate of Science degree in electronics or a related technical discipline, or equivalent technical training in biomedical, electronic, or computer technology, or equivalent military training and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an FSE or equivalent field service experience.
  • 3+ years of experience working on complex capital medical devices.
  • Ability to climb and stand on ladders for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Work various shifts as deemed necessary, including on‑call rotation.
  • Proficient computer skills including networking, Microsoft Windows operating systems, Customer Relationship Management (e.g., SAP R/3, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Oracle), and MS Office products (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).
  • Become fully competent in the application and operation of all products in all care areas.
Other Work Requirements
  • Successful completion of Spacelabs training at a company location or prior passage of Spacelabs FSE training.
  • Register with a vendor credentialing service, providing required personal information, vaccination proof, and compliance with customer site requirements.
  • May be required to complete US federal background check and requirements for access to US government facilities and/or IT networks.
  • Use of computer: 15%.
  • Domestic travel: 75%—requires a valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and ability to obtain necessary travel documents.
  • Travel may include air travel and using personal vehicle to assist with business needs.
  • Participation in an on‑call rotation and periodic mandatory overtime may be required.
Benefits and Compensation

Pay may range between $31.25 to $37.02 per hour. The pay range above represents annual base salary only; final compensation will be determined based on job level, location, hire date, experience, job‑related knowledge and skills, education, market and business considerations.

Base salary is one component of the total rewards package. Employees may be eligible for long‑term incentives, discretionary bonuses, and a discounted company stock purchase program. Comprehensive benefits include various health plans, access to a 401(k) retirement plan, health savings account, disability insurance, life insurance, AD&D insurance, leave of absence programs, and voluntary benefits. Paid time off is available for vacation, holidays, bereavement, and jury duty. Full‑time salaried employees are entitled to flexible time‑off.
