Job summary

Onto Innovation is seeking a Field Service Engineer to troubleshoot and repair 4D systems, in the field or at the factory, with up to 30% travel domestically and internationally, and to provide proactive customer email and phone support to address concerns and issues.

You will complete repair jobs following work instructions, fill data sheets and reports, and maintain a valid driver’s license while collaborating with service staff as needed.

Qualifications

• BS degree or higher in optical engineering, mechanical engineering, or an equivalent combo with 2 years of experience.
• Experience in application and integration of precision optical and optomechanical components.
• Excellent analytical capability for systematic troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of electronics, mechanics, computers and common tools.
• Customer-focused with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-directed and reliable.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair 4D systems in the field or at the factory.
• Provide customer email and phone support to address concerns and issues, escalating when necessary.
• Complete repair jobs following work instructions, and fill data sheets and associated reports.
• Position requires up to 30% travel, including international travel.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license.

Job Summary & Responsibilities

• Basic understanding of 4D products, including assembly, function, and performance

• Troubleshoot and repair 4D systems, in the field or at the factory

• Provide customer email and phone support to address concerns and issues. If unsuccessful, gather information and elevate to other service staff.

• Complete repair jobs following work instructions, complete data sheets and associated reports.

• Position requires up to 30% travel, both in the US and international.

• Must maintain valid driver's license

• Other duties as required

Compensation & Growth

Base Salary Range:

$46,880.00 - $70,320.00, offered in good faith and based on experience, location, and qualifications.
