Job Description Summary

The Field Service Engineer for BD Pyxis Dispensing Devices is responsible for independently providing efficient and effective field service support to all BD dispensing customers within a given territory. This includes service and repair, preventative maintenance, calibration, installations, and limited cross-functional support for Sales and Implementation teams.

Location: Field-based in Metro New York City, Southern CT

Role Overview

The Field Service Engineer is a remote, field-based position with daily travel to customer locations within the territory. Candidates should reside within a 30-mile radius of the base location. A company vehicle is provided, and 5% overnight travel may be required. A valid driver’s license is mandatory.

Accountabilities

1. Provide remote and on-site technical support for BD Pyxis automated dispensing systems in hospitals and healthcare facilities.
2. Respond to, evaluate, and prioritize work orders; diagnose, service, and resolve hardware and software issues; log and track activities; support all products within the region.
3. Implement preventive maintenance programs, support Sales and Implementation teams, and perform other support activities as needed.
4. Demonstrate proficiency in hardware and software troubleshooting.
5. Deliver timely field services including installations, repairs, preventive maintenance, calibration, and sales support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• 3-5 years of field service experience supporting hardware, software, and IT applications
• 24x7 on-call experience in a customer-facing environment
• Experience with computer electronics, Windows OS, and networks
• Hospital pharmacy technician or Bio-Med experience is a plus
• Valid driver’s license and adherence to auto safety standards
• Ability to lift at least 70 pounds

Additional Information

Compensation

Hourly rate: $23.80 - $36.80 USD/hour, based on experience and location.
