We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to serve as the technical expert supporting installers, distribution partners, and system owners throughout a designated territory. This role combines hands‑on troubleshooting, customer support, training, commissioning assistance, and collaboration with engineering and product teams to ensure exceptional field performance and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has strong electrical troubleshooting skills, experience supporting complex electrical systems, and the ability to build credibility with contractors, installers, inspectors, and customers. Duties and Responsibilities:
Technical Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and diagnose complex system issues, including power conversion equipment, battery storage systems, EV charging equipment, communication networks, and monitoring platforms.
- Support system commissioning, startup activities, firmware updates, configuration settings, and equipment integration.
- Perform root‑cause analysis using system data, site information, and performance trends.
- Own technical escalations that require field intervention and drive issues through resolution.
- Partner with engineering, quality, and product teams to communicate field findings and improve product performance.
- Evaluate pre‑release hardware and software and provide detailed feedback to product development teams.
- Document technical findings, corrective actions, and recommendations.
Customer Support & Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary technical contact for customers, contractors, distributors, and service partners within the region.
- Deliver technical training programs covering installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and system best practices.
- Assist customers in effectively utilizing company software platforms, monitoring tools, and support processes.
- Develop an understanding of local market conditions, industry trends, electrical codes, and permitting requirements.
- Maintain detailed records of activities, site visits, service reports, and customer interactions within company systems.
Travel:
This is a home‑based position supporting customer sites throughout the assigned territory.
- Candidates must reside within the territory and have convenient access to a major airport.
- Approximately 60% travel is required, primarily day trips with some overnight travel.
- Participation in a rotating on‑call schedule for critical system and safety‑related issues may be required.
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of field service, commissioning, installation, maintenance, or technical support experience with complex electrical systems.
- Experience working with one or more of the following:
- Battery energy storage systems
- EV charging infrastructure
- Electrical contracting
- Utility operations
- Industrial controls or electronics
- Military technical systems
- Strong electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills, including:
- AC/DC measurements
- Use of multimeters and clamp meters
- Safe work practices around energized equipment
- Working knowledge of electrical codes, interconnection requirements, and inspection practices.
- Ability to communicate technical information effectively to installers, inspectors, customers, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to work safely on rooftops, at customer sites, and in electrical equipment environments while utilizing appropriate PPE.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with solar, energy storage, or renewable energy systems.
- NABCEP certification, Journeyman Electrician certification, C‑10 license, OSHA 10/30, or similar technical credentials.
- Associate's degree or higher in Engineering, Electronics, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field.
- Experience with three‑phase power systems and commercial or industrial installations.
- Basic networking knowledge, including IP addressing, DHCP, Wi‑Fi, cellular communications, and Ethernet connectivity.
