SOTAX is a global leader in pharmaceutical and laboratory testing instrumentation. We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our Technical Service team and support customers across the pharmaceutical industry.

This hands-on, field-based role covers Mountain/West US region with travel to UT, CA, OR, WA, CO and more. You will install, maintain, and repair analytical lab instruments (HPLC, GC, Dissolution) and perform IQ/OQ/PQ, while providing on-site and remote technical support and

Qualifications

• 2+ years in scientific industry with analytical lab instruments.
• Experience with HPLC/GC or dissolution testers preferred.
• Background in engineering/electronics/chemistry recommended.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair SOTAX laboratory instruments and other analytic lab equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance, calibrations, IQ/OQ/PQ as needed.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software issues to minimize downtime.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support and customer training.
• Maintain detailed service records and documentation.

What You’ll Do

• Install, maintain, and repair SOTAX laboratory instruments and other analytical lab equipment, including HPLC and GC systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance, calibrations, and qualifications (IQ/OQ/PQ) to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues to minimize downtime.
• Provide technical support and training to customers, both on‑site and remotely.
• Maintain detailed service records and documentation.

What We’re Looking For

• Problem-solving skills: Strong troubleshooting abilities with a customer-first approach.
• Travel readiness: Ability to travel within the region and occasionally beyond. (approximately 60-70%)
• Adaptability and strong organizational abilities.
• 2+ years of scientific industry experience preferred, ideally with analytical lab instruments such as HPLC, GC, or dissolution testers.
• Background: Technical School or associate / bachelor’s degree in engineering, electronics, chemistry (or equivalent experience).
