We are now looking for a Field Service Engineer – (Energy) in the US to join our team working for a better future.

What will you be doing?

As a Field Service Engineer, you will provide technical engineering support and execute field service activities to ensure high‑quality service delivery and customer satisfaction. You will perform hands‑on technical tasks in the field, including troubleshooting and diagnostics, supporting the reliable operation of customer equipment in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. You will work closely with experienced service colleagues, customers, and internal teams to resolve technical issues, coordinate on‑site activities, and ensure service work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. In addition, you will contribute to continuous improvement of field service processes by providing feedback based on field experience and equipment performance.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform technical field service tasks, including advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, and issue resolution in accordance with established procedures.
  • Support the functionality and reliability of customer equipment by identifying technical issues and contributing to corrective actions together with the service team.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to customers during service activities, ensuring a positive service experience.
  • Collaborate with customers, external stakeholders, and cross‑functional internal teams to coordinate on‑site activities and ensure timely service delivery.
  • Escalate complex technical issues as required and support senior engineers or superintendents during service execution.
  • Contribute to the continuous development of field service processes by providing feedback on service execution and equipment performance.
  • Maintain accurate service records, reports, and documentation in line with company policies and customer requirements.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with applicable safety, quality, and environmental standards.

  • Experience working with Wärtsilä engines or similar large‑bore engine platforms (preferred but not mandatory for junior level).

  • Good organizational and prioritization skills in field environments.
  • A team‑player mindset with the ability to work independently under guidance, including in remote locations.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous learning.

Travel Requirements:

This position requires approximately 80% travel, including domestic and occasional international assignments to customer power plants. Extended periods away from the primary residence should be expected. Travel flexibility is an essential requirement of this role.

Successful applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

For applicants that reside in CA/WA/CO, the hourly wage range is 30/h - 36/h. For applicants that reside in NY, the salary/salary range/hourly wage range is 30/h - 46/h.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Eligibility to participate in: the discretionary incentive plan assigned to the level of position upon offer of employment; medical, dental and vision coverage, 401(k) plan and flexible spending accounts, subject to plan terms; Company‑paid benefits such as life insurance, short‑and-long-term disability, subject to applicable waiting periods. Paid time off (PTO) is accrued on a per-pay period basis in accordance with tenure in the Company; a new hire can expect 17 days per year. Twelve (12) Company‑paid holidays.
