Job summary

A leading data center services provider in Atlanta is seeking a Field Service Engineer to manage UPS, batteries, and PDU installations. The ideal candidate has over 5 years of experience, a high school diploma, and solid communication skills. Responsibilities include commissioning equipment at client sites and liaising with customers. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for commissioning UPS, batteries and PDU at a specified customer site following predetermined script. Provide accurate and timely communication to internal and external customers. Keep current on Safety Field Change Notices and Service Tips.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience in this field and ability to follow MOPS on equipment such as UPS, batteries, PDU’s / Power Distribution Units, Static Automatic Transfer Switches, Branch Circuit Monitoring, and other electrical equipment
  • Working knowledge of OHM's law and electronic theory
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3 phase/480v experience required
  • Familiarity with electrical/electronic test equipment and fundamentals.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical line diagrams and blueprints.
  • Ability to evaluate the operating conditions of equipment.
  • Standard computer skills including MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Clear, concise, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact comfortably with all levels of internal and external customers.
  • Must have the ability and self‑motivation to manage one's own schedule.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 40lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipment
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time in various work environments
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for equipment related tasks
  • Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations and navigate areas quickly
  • Ability to move quickly and efficiently withing various work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergencies.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components and connectors
  • Clear vision, with or without correction, to perform tasks requiring attention to detail and precision while wearing safety glasses
  • Ability to differentiate between color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables
  • Ability to work in environments with a wide variety temperature inside a facility
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow
  • Capability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license for work-related travel, as required
