As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Electrical Subject Matter Expert to join our team and drive our relationships with hyperscale clients to new heights.

Electrical Subject Matter Expert

The Electrical SME will be a part of the facility operations team and will be responsible for being the electrical system technical operations expert. The Electrical Subject Matter Expert will need to have a broad understanding of the electrical system and equipment function and will be responsible for procedure‑based electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, training, and project oversight.

The candidate will need to be experienced in Low Voltage & Medium Voltage power distribution, electrical protection & controls systems, UPS and battery systems, electrical testing, applicable electrical codes, and standards, and have a basic understanding of mechanical systems.

Pay: $133,120 (Based on qualifications)

Schedule: Mon‑Fri Standard business hours

Location: - While this position is posted in Odessa, Texas, this position is On‑site position in Barstow, TX. Relocation is available for qualified candidates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Serve as an onsite technical resource of electrical infrastructure systems and equipment, with an emphasis on practical field operation.
  • Ensure appropriate cross‑functional collaboration between the local facility team and applicable local and global teams.
  • Good written technical proficiency to support the creation and revision of process documentation (MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs).
  • Contribute to the electrical safety program for the site.
  • Plan resource, author or approve work procedures to cover electrical troubleshooting, repair, retrofit, and maintenance activities, with an emphasis on assessing & mitigating personnel and critical systems and operational risk.
  • Conduct or oversee hands‑on troubleshooting, repair, retrofit, and maintenance of electrical equipment.
  • Oversee electrical system configurations and component upgrades to ensure system integrity is maintained and that all modifications to existing systems follow best practices, including change control processes.
  • Provide Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QAQC) oversight of construction projects & maintenance activity.
  • Provide training to Critical Facility Engineers and other cross‑functional teams on electrical equipment, systems, procedures, and changes.
  • Manage vendor relationships for electrical maintenance and retrofit work.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Over 7 years of pertinent experience in the electrical industry or at the electrical trade level.
  • High School or GED required; A Bachelor's degree or trade certification in a related field, combined with at least 3 years of relevant electrical industry experience, will be considered as an alternative to the requirement for 7+ years of relevant electrical industry experience.
  • Proficient in critical facility operations with experience or comprehension of procedure‑based work.
  • Demonstrated experience in critical environments.
  • Proven ability to comprehend electrical plans, specifications, and equipment shop drawings.
  • Theoretical and practical understanding of power equipment and systems, specializing in electrical equipment design, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and/or construction.
  • Background in working in a highly collaborative, cross‑functional environment.
  • Proficient in interpreting blueprints/CAD drawings.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in the data center industry.
  • Electrical testing experience or certifications such as NETA or NICET.
  • Expertise in instrumentation & control, power system protection, power automation, etc.
  • Experience in the construction, operation, and maintenance of high‑voltage equipment (up to 345kV).
  • Trade Certification or state license as an electrician.
  • Previous experience in equipment field service engineering or representation.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 40lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipment.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time in various work environments.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for equipment related tasks.
  • Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations and navigate areas quickly.
  • Ability to move quickly and efficiently within various work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergencies.
  • Good hand‑eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components and connectors.
  • Clear vision, with or without correction, to perform tasks requiring attention to detail and precision while wearing safety glasses.
  • Ability to differentiate between color‑coded warning signs, labels, and cables.
  • Ability to work in environments with a wide range of temperature inside a facility.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow.
  • Capability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license for work‑related travel, as required.

Compensation & Benefits Disclosure

The base pay range for this role is $133,120.00. This reflects a good‑faith estimate of what we reasonably expect to pay upon hire, based on factors such as skills, experience, education, and market/location. Our comprehensive benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, Health Savings Account (HSA), gym discount, mental health, Discounted Group Life & AD&D, Discounted Group Short & Long‑term Disability, 401(k) retirement matching, PTO/paid holidays, and parental leave. Final compensation will be determined by job‑related factors consistent with applicable law.
