Job summary

Butler Machinery Company in North Dakota is seeking a Diesel Service Technician to perform maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on customer equipment, supporting skill development within a long-standing family-owned business.

You will be part of a safety-focused team, with strong growth opportunities and training. The role pays hourly with a field technician differential and comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Experience in diesel maintenance and diagnostics.

  • Proficient computer technology skills.
  • Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs and travel to locations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on agriculture equipment and systems.
  • Troubleshoot diesel technology systems (hydraulics, electrical, powertrains).
  • Overtime as workload dictates (1.5x after 8 hours).
  • Proactively maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Work independently and as part of a high performing team.
  • Travel to other Butler locations as needed.

Full-Time Technician Pay Scale: $32.73/hr-$53.03/hr, DOE. (+ $2.00/hr differential for Field Technician)

Responsibilities Of a Diesel Service Technician
  • Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on agriculture equipment and systems.
  • Troubleshooting capabilities within all diesel technology systems and componentry. For example: Hydraulics, electrical, power trains, etc.
  • Opportunity for overtime as workload dictates (anything over 8 hours a day is paid at 1.5x your hourly rate)
  • Proactively maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Work independently and as part of a high performing team
  • Committed to lifelong learning and training to stay ahead of industry standards and product updates
  • Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs
  • Opportunity to travel to other Butler and customer locations
