Job summary

Ziegler Ag Equipment in Fort Dodge is hiring a Field Service Ag Technician to service the full line of agricultural equipment from planting to harvest at customer sites. A company truck is provided to support field work and reliable on-site service.

The role requires 2-year diesel tech training or equivalent with 3+ years of repair experience; strong diagnostic and communication skills; and a commitment to safety, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical college degree in diesel technology or related field; or high school diploma/GED and 2 years of comparable shop mechanic experience
• 3+ years of relevant diesel equipment repair experience, preferably some field experience
• Working knowledge of repairing a variety of agricultural equipment; ag technology experience is a definite plus
• Ability to write and communicate effectively, interact with supervisors, customers, and team members
• Basic computer skills to document work orders and utilize online diagnostic systems
• Own mechanic tool set
• Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment including service truck
• Willing and able to respond to after-hour emergency calls as directed by the supervisor
• Able to operate equipment safely
• Must have and maintain a clean driving record
• Pass a DOT pre-employment drug screen & physical due to the role being deemed safety-sensitive
• DOT Med card or ability to obtain is required

• Uses a high degree of independent judgment to repair a variety of complex equipment and tools, which involve mechanical, hydraulic, gas, diesel, and electrical systems

• Responds to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed
• Work collaboratively and assist other technicians as needed regarding troubleshooting repairs
• Document work orders in a complete and timely manner to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction; identify and communicate the need for parts for inventory

The pay range for this position is $38.00 to $51.00

Starting wage is dependent on skills, experience, education and location. Pay range may vary by 10% depending upon the applicant’s location. Along with competitive pay, full time positions are benefits eligible which includes:
