Job summary

Ziegler Caterpillar, located in Fort Dodge, Iowa, is seeking an Ag Technician to work on agricultural equipment from planting to harvest. The ideal candidate has experience in ag diesel engine repair and possesses excellent troubleshooting skills. This full-time position offers a robust benefits package including health insurance and 15 PTO days in the first year.

Qualifications

Ziegler Ag Equipment has an Ag Technician position working on the full line of ag equipment from planting to the harvest. We are looking for a dedicated ag mechanic with excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic skills and a sense of urgency at our Fort Dodge branch. Hours: M-F, 7:00am-3:30pm.

Pay Range

The pay range for this position is 27.00 to 45.00. Starting wage is dependent on skills, experience, education and location. Pay range may vary by 10% depending upon the applicant’s location. Full-time positions are benefits eligible.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair ag equipment from application, tillage, planting to harvest equipment
• Document work orders in a complete and timely manner to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
• Work safely at all times, following company policies, procedures and standards
• Work collaboratively and assist other technicians as needed regarding troubleshooting repairs
• Participate in ongoing training to enhance mechanical skills and grow product knowledge

Qualifications

• 2-year technical college degree in diesel technology or related field; or High school diploma/GED and 2 years of comparable shop mechanic experience
• 2+ years of relevant ag diesel engine/equipment repair experience is preferred
• Working knowledge of repairing a variety of agricultural equipment; ag technology experience is a definite plus
• Ability to write and communicate effectively and interact with supervisors, customers and team members
• Basic computer skills to document work orders and utilize online diagnostic systems
• Own mechanic tool set
• Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment
• This role is deemed safety sensitive and requires the ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug test
