Job description

We are seeking a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Knoxville, TN. The role involves:

  • Completing repairs on engine products in a service shop
  • Performing maintenance and repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
  • Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles
  • Adhering to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
  • Engaging in ongoing development and certifications on new and existing Cummins products
  • Maintaining personal tools

To be successful, you should:

  • Complete complex internal engine repairs
  • Perform complex unassisted engine overhauls
  • Troubleshoot with limited or no support from diagnostic tools
  • Have a detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components
  • Mentor junior technicians, including providing technical support and documentation

The compensation includes a base salary commensurate with experience, along with benefits such as 401(k), pension plan, medical/dental/life insurance, HSA, and other personal and professional benefits.

Qualifications include:

  • Valid driver’s license (CDL not required but preferred)
  • Responsible driver with a clean 5-year motor vehicle report
  • Possession of a current valid license
  • At least 3 years of driving experience
  • Compliance with DOT regulations, including physical and hours of service
  • Knowledge of Power Generation (preferred)

The role is full-time, entry-level, within the manufacturing industry, with salary ranges from $30.76 to $46.15 per hour. A CDL may be required upon hire due to EPA regulations in Tennessee.
