Thompson Machinery is seeking an Electric Power Generation Technician (EPG) to install, maintain, diagnose, and repair diesel-powered standby generators at customer sites across a broad Tennessee/Mississippi territory.

This role requires hands-on electrical diagnostics, advanced troubleshooting, and independent work with a company vehicle. Travel within the territory is up to 20%, and strong customer service is essential.

Qualificações

• Power Generation Technology training or Power Production and Maintenance training through accredited technical schools or military experience preferred. High school diploma required.
• Two or more years of previous hands-on electrical diagnostics and advanced troubleshooting experience on 8.5kW – 2,500kW diesel generators.
• Able to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and on-call hours and work independently in remote locations.
• Must demonstrate professionalism, integrity, adaptability and strong customer service focus.
• Demonstrated sense of urgency and self-initiative, and the drive to succeed.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Possess a current valid state driver’s license with a DOT medical card as required for towing.
• Must possess basic set of industrial tools and be able to travel within territory (up to 20%).

Responsabilidades

• Install, maintain, diagnose and repair diesel powered standby electrical generation equipment.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting on power generation, switchgear and UPS systems.
• Work largely independently with a company-provided field service truck at varied customer locations.
• Interpret technical manuals, safety instructions, and schematics; follow company policies.
• Ensure safety, customer satisfaction and business responsibility within the territory.
