Job summary

BAC is seeking a Field Service Controls Technician to lead field commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of BAC control systems at customer sites. This role combines controls, electrical, automation, and HVAC knowledge to support installations and retrofit projects, while acting as a liaison between contractors, customers, and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electrical Technology or related technical discipline required.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of field service, controls/automation, HVAC commissioning, or related experience.
• Knowledge of electrical power systems and motor controls.
• Experience with VFDs and BMS communication protocols is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission BAC control systems and equipment.
• Verify wiring, panels, sensors, and BMS communications per drawings and codes.
• Coordinate startup with customers and BAC personnel; conduct field startup.
• Validate system performance, setpoints, alarms, and safety interlocks.
• Follow arc flash and LOTO safety practices.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical/controls issues; provide solutions.
• Provide onsite technical guidance and training to customers and contractors.
• Document field reports, configurations, repairs, and lessons learned.
