Job Description
MBS is hiring a Field Service Controls Engineer in Cincinnati, OH.
This position is a full-time, direct hire opportunity.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise installation and startup of machines at the customers’ plant and maintain all working components as determined by customers’ needs.
- Travel to customers’ location(s) to supervise installation of our machines and perform startup of new machines.
- Perform field troubleshooting on warranty and repair orders.
- Review jobs in the shop as production progresses for potential field service issues.
- Perform electrical fault diagnosis/functions on customer machinery, including PLC diagnostics.
- Support customers and technicians with electrical & program troubleshooting via phone and remote connections.
- Assist engineering with machine runoffs and pre-shipment program checks.
- Work with various software systems.
- Train employees and/or customers on machines.
- Prepare service reports for field jobs.
- Perform other functions as directed.
- Assist Field Service Supervisor when required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Two-year college degree or trade school certificate in electrical engineering and/or 2-3 years of technical experience in manufacturing automation, material handling, or machine control.
- Product component knowledge and troubleshooting experience at the program level.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with employees, departments, supervision, and customers.
- Ability to present information to groups of employees, customers, and vendors.
- College-level mathematics skills.
- Ability to identify work process problems and propose solutions.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted, over 50 lbs with assistance.
- Ability to kneel, squat, stoop, recline, climb, crawl, and bend as needed.
- Subject to temperature variations based on season.
- Exposure to loud noise levels, fumes, or smells as per job requirements.
- Occasional travel within North America for startup, commissioning, and warranty work; some international travel expected, with an estimated 65-75% travel time.
