Job summary

GROB Systems, Inc is seeking a field service/installation specialist to support CNC machine builds at customer locations in the Austin area. The role requires quick response to installations or issues and travel on short notice, with responsibility for mechanical build and start-up of machine tool equipment.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read metric prints, and knowledge of assembly technology or metal cutting principles.

Qualifications

• Requires strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read and interpret metric prints
• Ability to read mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical drawings
• NC programming experience preferred but not required
• Previous CNC machining or machine-building experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Respond quickly to customer installations or problems on short notice
• Assemble and start-up new CNC machines to GROB specifications
• Assemble and start-up assembly equipment at customer sites
• Use precision measuring instruments (calipers, levels, indicators, micrometers)
• Read and follow mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical prints/drawings
• Read and follow tool layouts and NC code (G-code, M-functions)
• Troubleshoot machine errors
• Respond to emergency calls from customers in a timely manner
