Job summary

Media Resources Inc. in Buford, GA, seeks a Field Service Technician to install and commission new digital LED displays on-site across the USA and Canada, and to perform on-site service and preventive maintenance of LED signs.

You will document daily progress, capture 4K photos, and report to the Project Manager, while upholding safety standards and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Completion of a two- to three-year college program in electronics or completion of a four-year apprenticeship program in electronic servicing and repair; or completion of high school or college courses in electronics and on-the-job training an asset.
• Trade certification for electronics technicians an asset.
• Working at Heights & Lift Operator Certifications is considered an asset.

Role Description

The primary purpose of this position is to provide field service in the Installation and Commissioning of new Digital LED signs and the On-Site Service (break-fix) and Preventative Maintenance of Digital LED signs.

The primary responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:

• Mandatory Monday to Friday with adjustment to travel and due to customer needs scheduling may interfere with the weekend work as assigned by the manager.
• Installing and commissioning of new LED displays on-site locations across USA, and Canada as needed.
• Communicate with Project Manager at the end of each day of project progress
• Fill out the Clear to Service form right after commissioning is done
• Take 4K pictures of the display(s) with content and upload to Project folder
• Ability to properly install indoor LED displays—securely fastening mounts to walls/structures and aligning cabinets level, plumb, and flat (including Z-axis). Demonstrates patience and precision to avoid rushing installations and ensure accurate cabinet alignment.
• Priority Break/Fix: On site parts replace the LED modules, power supplies or controllers as required to repair sign or other required components.
• Maintain customer satisfaction ratings based on criteria established by the company.
• Input service call information into Service ticketing system to log customer information and actions taken along with required next steps. Diligently enter required information into drop down menu fields to facilitate the gathering of service and product performance metrics.
• Additional responsibilities and duties will be assigned by the Operations Manager when there is no schedule for commissioning the display, the incumbent is to provide support and services to the office / facility to work with either the configuration group or NOC USA Service team.
• In doing the above activities, create a positive customer experience while meeting company standards pertaining to quality of work performed and in compliance with company policies, procedures, legislation, regulation and directions and identify non-compliance for resolution.
• Participate and comply with all health and safety processes and initiatives to ensure that Media Resources remains a safe workplace.
• Ensure all service requests are completed to the customer’s satisfaction in a timely manner.
• Ensure all service calls are proactively followed up and customers kept updated on service ticket status and all pertinent information is entered into service tickets to facilitate the gathering of service performance and product metrics.
• Work collaboratively with other team members and leadership

Requirements / Qualifications:

Academic Training:

• Completion of a two- to three-year college program in electronics or completion of a four-year apprenticeship program in electronic servicing and repair; or completion of high school or college courses in electronics and on-the-job training an asset.
• Trade certification for electronics technicians an asset.
• Working at Heights & Lift Operator Certifications is considered an asset.

Work Experience:

• 5 + Years’ Experience in Field Service and Maintenance.
• Experience in working at heights and operation of a bucket truck and scissor lifts.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail: Ability to properly install indoor LED displays—securely fastening mounts to walls/structures and aligning cabinets level, plumb, and flat (including Z-axis). Demonstrates patience and precision to avoid rushing installations and ensure accurate cabinet alignment.
• Able to access and work on outdoor LED sign structures at heights up to 100 ft. in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to work independently to suggest and implement solutions for issues encountered in the field.
• Solid understanding of networking (Hardline, Wireless and Cellular).
• Solid understanding of Electrical installation and service.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a real desire to help customers and create a positive customer experience.
• Ability to work professionally with outside service providers.

Work Conditions:

Physical Demands:

• Field Service work is performed on site on sign structures or when providing Help Desk support or performing depot repair in an office environment.
• Able to access and work on outdoor LED sign structures at heights up to 100 ft. in varying weather conditions.
• This job requires some exposure to harsh weather conditions during commissioning or servicing of outdoor LED signage.

• This position requires multi-tasking to ensure the varied job requirements are met.
• Flow and characteristics of work require work pressure for frequent periods of short duration or occasional periods of sustained duration.
