Job summary

OKSI is seeking a Field Support Engineer to serve as our forward-deployed technical expert on electro-optical, infrared, and autonomous sensor systems. This highly technical, travel-intensive role is designed to support, test, and troubleshoot fielded systems directly alongside customers and program teams.

This is not an entry-level or training position. This role requires extensive travel (60–70%), on-site deployment, and collaboration with engineering and program staff to ensure mission

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical discipline.
• 4+ years in software and mechanical engineering roles, including field service or test & evaluation.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, C++, C, or MATLAB) and CAD tools.
• Working knowledge of Linux-based systems and command-line operations.

Responsibilities

• Field Deployment & Support to customer sites and field locations.
• Travel to customer sites 60–70% to install, configure, operate, and maintain sensor, software, and autonomous platform systems.
• Perform pre-deployment checks and prepare field kits, hardware, and software builds for mission readiness.
• Troubleshoot software and hardware issues, including embedded software and ATAK-integrated apps.
• Document field issues and report findings to engineering teams; serve as on-site technical contact.
