Job summary

Axiom Consultants Inc. is seeking a Field/Electronics Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair sensors for the Automated Surface Observation System (ASOS) located at airports across the United States.

The ideal candidate should have experience using electronic testing equipment and reading wiring diagrams and schematics. In addition to servicing and installing equipment, the Technician will perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repair, and will work closely with the Facilities

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience with electronics equipment.
• Proficient with electrical theory and diagnostics.
• Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with test/diagnostic equipment (digital voltmeter, AC clamp meter).
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects up to 70 pounds.
• Safety-conscious and able to follow manuals.

Responsibilities

• Test and implement electrical systems per specifications.
• Monitor preventive maintenance and inspection schedules.
• Repair and maintain electronic systems.
• Perform system testing for performance and functionality.
• Maintain inventory of components and tools.
• Recommend upgrades to improve system performance.
• Startup, preventive maintenance, and field modification on assigned equipment.
• Complete administrative duties on all work activities including daily reports and logs.
• Work with customers, partners and technical support to resolve escalated issues.
• Perform 90-day preventive maintenance on meteorological equipment as prescribed by the technical manual.
• Occasional travel required.
