Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC in Utah is seeking a Security Service Technician to independently service, troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and maintain security systems including intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and related low-voltage systems. You will diagnose issues, verify compliance with codes, read blueprints and wiring diagrams, and complete documentation on time.

The role requires a high school diploma, 3+ years in the field, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work safely

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years in fire and life safety as an apprentice or technician.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong knowledge of intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and low-voltage systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and system drawings.
• Ability to work independently and complete service jobs without direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform service, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and maintenance of security systems including intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and related low-voltage systems.
• Diagnose system issues and complete corrective actions in a timely and professional manner.
• Test and verify proper system functionality and compliance with codes and customer requirements.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on security and low-voltage systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, system layouts, and technical manuals.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete service work safely and efficiently.
• Complete service documentation, inspection reports, and work orders accurately and on time.
• Communicate professionally with customers, team members, and supervisors.
• Follow all company safety procedures and customer site requirements.
• Travel to job sites as required.
