Job summary

Apex Companies, LLC. is seeking an entry-level Staff Scientist to join our environmental team in the Corpus Christi, Texas area.

This remote, field-based role involves approximately 75% field work and 25% remote reporting, with all activities supporting projects within roughly a 50-mile radius of Corpus Christi. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field, with strong writing and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Geology, or related field is required or strongly preferred.
• Entry-level candidates with strong academics or field background are welcomed.
• Experience or coursework in environmental fieldwork, wetlands, SWPPP, or stormwater is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct stormwater inspections along transmission line projects and other environmental sites.
• Hike and drive along transmission line corridors to inspect BMPs.
• Verify BMPs are installed and functioning to prevent sediment loss.
• Document field observations and maintain field records.
• Prepare technical reports and project documentation from field data.
