This is a remote US position with expected travel of up to 75% per year.

A day in the life
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Field Sales Training Manager to enhance the capabilities of our sales team in effectively selling our medical device, Barostim, and implementing programmatic sales strategies. This role is responsible for training and coaching our field sales representatives on program development, programmatic selling behaviors, and fundamental sales techniques specific to our product. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical device sales, training, and sales program development.

Barostim is a groundbreaking therapeutic heart failure device with no predecessor—there is no other product like it in the market. Its unique therapy can be performed in both in-patient and out-patient settings. Due to the novelty of our treatment, selling this revolutionary device takes creativity and in-depth knowledge on how to work around barriers. This role requires someone who can effectively teach our sales team, emphasizing how to address these challenges, overcome objections, and use our proven Blueprints and Strategic Selling methods to build successful programs that drive long-term adoption.

TRAVEL: This is a high-volume travel position. Our Field Sales Training Manager will travel approximately 75% of the year with the potential to reduce the amount of travel after the role is established and successfully meeting desired outcomes.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance and deliver training programs focused on building and implementing structured sales programs tailored to the "Business of Barostim".
  • Coach sales representatives on programmatic selling techniques, integrity selling, strategic selling, and emphasizing repeatable, scalable sales processes for identifying key targets while focusing on longevity and lasting relationships.
  • Train sales teams on best practices for prospecting, customer engagement, objection handling, and closing deals effectively.
  • Conduct field coaching sessions, ride-alongs and hands-on workshops to reinforce learning and improve performance.
  • Teach how to identify key call points and educate the field sales team on engaging the right stakeholders within each healthcare system.
  • Train sales representatives on using in-reach and outreach strategies to optimize engagement and program development.
  • Guide sales teams in the identification of opportunities by assessing where patients are in their heart failure treatment journey and aligning Barostim as a solution.
  • Equip sales representatives with strategies to navigate reimbursement challenges, including addressing payor hesitations and advocating for patient access to Barostim.
  • Work closely with sales leadership as well as marketing & development leaders to align training content with strategic business objectives.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of training programs, providing ongoing recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide real-time feedback and mentorship to sales team members to enhance their skills and confidence in selling the device.
  • Stay current with industry trends, competitor products, and sales methodologies to continuously enhance training materials and approaches.

Requirements

What we expect of you:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience (5 years minimum)
  • Prior experience in field sales training, sales enablement, or a related role
  • Your own proven ability to learn program methodologies and translate them into a successful curriculum
  • Excellent coaching, facilitation, and communication skills
  • Experience working with widely dispersed sales teams
  • Experience in sales training and coaching of field-based sales teams
  • Deep understanding of programmatic selling and structured sales methodologies
  • Strong ability to identify call points, outreach strategies, and patient pathways in heart failure treatment
  • Expertise in overcoming reimbursement challenges and articulating the value of novel medical technologies to payors and providers
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead, inspire, and develop sales professionals at varying experience levels
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt training techniques to different learning styles
  • Willing and able to travel up to 75% as needed to provide in-person coaching and training (US Domestic)
  • Possess a valid driver's license and have access to reliable transportation
  • Possess valid ID for domestic air travel

What We Prefer To See:

  • Advanced Degree is a plus
  • Proven experience in medical device sales, with a strong track record of success
  • Expert knowledge of CRM tools and sales analytics tools to assess and track sales performance improvements
  • Ability to master concepts of a medical and surgical nature and that of active implantable medical device technology.
  • Prefer a demonstrable record of detailed training assignments and results

Working Conditions:

  • This position will require interfacing with multiple internal departments and physician investigators/customers
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% a year; may reduce with time in position
  • May be required to be fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus and other diseases

Salary range for U.S locations (USD): 130,000 to 150,000. The base salary range is applicable across the U.S., complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and specific location.

In addition to Base Salary, this position is eligible for a Corporate Bonus Plan (CBP) which provides the opportunity to earn additional compensation for the company's meeting established annual objectives and prorated based on earned annual base salary.
