Ballast Point Brewing Company in San Diego, CA is seeking a Field Sales Representative to promote our beers within the local territory. You will build and maintain relationships with retailers, distributors, and customers, while executing sales plans to hit targets.

Ideal candidates bring craft beer passion, excellent communication skills, and a proven sales track record. You will travel to markets, join events, and coach wholesalers to grow Ballast Point brands.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of sales or marketing experience in beverage/alcohol industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, or similar field.
• Certified Beer Server or Certified Cicerone preferred.
• Proficient with VIP iDig, IRI, BIR, Power BI, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Willing to travel and work in physical retail locations.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to coordinate brand information with wholesalers.

Responsibilities

• Promote Ballast Point products in the San Diego territory and build retailer relationships.
• Lead planning meetings with wholesalers to align on revenue, volume, and goals.
• Participate in events, tastings, and education for wholesalers, customers, and consumers.
• Coach wholesalers and drive brand education, trade solutions, and market initiatives.
• Travel to different markets monthly and manage multiple distributors.

Position Summary:

The Field Sales Representative will be responsible for promoting and selling Ballast Point products within the San Diego territory. This role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with retailers, distributors, and customers, as well as executing sales strategies to achieve sales targets. The ideal candidate will have a deep passion for craft beer, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in sales.

Key Responsibilities:

• Super passionate about the beer industry and loves to SELL and BUILD relationships.
• Builds partnership with wholesaler management, EAM, Sales Manager, Channel Leads, Team Leads, Sales Reps, SEC to drive key priorities for Ballast Point Brands
• Leads monthly and annual business planning meetings with wholesaler to align on revenue, volume, distribution, and investment goals.
• Weekly participation with wholesaler on forecasting to make sure wholesaler has sufficient inventory to hit goals.
• Has the ability to call on accounts and inspires wholesalers to close out all chain commitments
• Participates in the execution through ride withs, events such as samplings, beer dinners, and craft beer educational presentations for wholesalers, customers and consumers.
• Coaches wholesaler sale teams through market blitzes, team selling, brand education, trade solutions, training, ride-withs, samplings and whatever it takes to get the job done.

• Adheres to federal and state alcoholic beverage laws.

Qualifications:

• Preferred bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, or similar field.
• 3+ years of sales or marketing experience in beverage/alcohol industry preferred. Or experience working with Reyes Distributing in CA.
• Certified Beer Server or Certified Cicerone preferred.
• Familiar with VIP iDig, IRI, BIR, Power BI, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Conducts work in a standing and sitting position; however, job requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and light lifting.
• Job requires the ability to be in physical retail locations, late night activations and travel.
• Profound knowledge of craft beer and brewing process.
• Strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to adjust a message to the audience.
• Highly creative and able to generate fresh, impactful ideas and see them through to implementation.
• Proven ability to think and move between strategic and analytical thinking as well as actual execution.
• Ability to coordinate brand information, supply POS material, and keep lines of communication open with state’s wholesaler network to better sell through products.
• Ability to drive to different markets on a monthly basis and manage multiple distributors.

Compensation:

• The actual rate of pay is dependent upon many factors such as training, transferable skills, work experience, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
