Position Overview

Empire Merchants, a leading distributor of fine wines and spirits, is seeking an exceptional Field Sales Manager to lead sales efforts in Queens, Long Island, and Brooklyn. This role involves managing and coaching a team of sales representatives to achieve sales volume and distribution goals, through effective planning, organization, training, and execution.

Responsibilities
  1. Pre-plan sales strategies by holding one-on-one meetings with team members to set goals and target accounts.
  2. Conduct weekly sales meetings to communicate objectives, review performance, and identify opportunities.
  3. Develop performance improvement plans and conduct evaluations for team members.
  4. Maintain relationships with key accounts, identify new opportunities, and resolve customer issues.
  5. Participate in hiring processes and manage onboarding of new staff.
  6. Coordinate with suppliers and manage surveys and ride-alongs.
  7. Ensure completion of training programs and maintain industry knowledge.
  8. Uphold confidentiality and adhere to safety and operational procedures.
  9. Contribute to team efforts to meet company goals.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervise sales representatives within the team.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a vehicle.
  • At least 5 years of relevant sales experience, preferably in wine and spirits.
  • Knowledge of wine and spirits, with WSET certification preferred.
  • Excellent communication, multi-tasking, and computer skills.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $70,000 - $90,000 plus bonuses, incentives, and allowances. Benefits include health insurance, 401K, paid time off, and more.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

Requires physical activity including lifting up to 50 pounds, and frequent travel within the market. Work environment includes office settings and outdoor market visits, with exposure to weather conditions.
