Job summary

CoVolt Power is seeking a Craft Safety professional for solar energy projects, stationed onsite at field sites in Mexia, TX. You will support safety programs, perform site audits, and promote a strong safety culture among crews.

Responsibilities include PPE distribution, toolbox talks, daily paperwork, and coordination with the Safety Manager and construction team to ensure regulatory compliance and incident prevention.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • OSHA 30 certification required; OSHA 510/500 preferred.
  • 2 years construction safety experience preferred.
  • Ability to learn and apply safety policies on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Promote company safety policies and a positive safety culture on projects.
  • Assist crew with daily paperwork: JSA, WI’s, permits to work and inspections.
  • Conduct weekly job-site audits and maintain safety records.
  • Manage PPE distribution, tool inspections, spill kits, and fire extinguishers.
  • Coordinate toolbox talks and site-specific safety trainings.
  • Work with Safety Manager and project team to address safety needs.
  • Maintain site safety plan including emergency actions and evacuations.
  • Physical work on construction sites, including climbing and lifting up to 25 pounds.

Position Summary:

CoVolt Power is searching for a Craft Safety for the solar energy projects. This position is located in the field at the project site. Must be willing and able to commute to and from the job site on a daily basis.

Activities/ Responsibilities/ Duties:
  • Acts as an advocate for Signal Energy, LLC by promoting companyculture,policies and procedures and promoting a positive attitude towards the goals of each project. Must represent Signal Energy professionally with clients, subcontractors, local officials, and others at all times.
  • Assist crew members with completing daily paperwork, including but not limited to, job safety analysis, work instructions (WI’s), and permit to work forms and inspections
  • Complete and document weekly job site audits
  • Audit and assist with management of spill kits, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, barricades, power tool inspections, electrical inspections, generators, and wheel chocks
  • Assist with issuing and distributing PPE to crews, as needed
  • Exercise stop-work authority by partnering with front line supervisors when necessary.
  • Facilitates site-specific trainings, including but not limited to orientations and safety trainings as needed
  • Assist Safety Team in delivering Toolbox Talks and bend and stretch as needed
  • Ability to learn work installation processes and actively engage with crew members to promote safety culture
  • Work with theSafetyManager, Project Manager, and Construction Manager to ensure that the needs of the field Safetyprogramare being addressed.
  • Work with the project team that continuously assessments the Safety of the work performed, track and assure corrective actions are completed in accordance with Signal Energy’s Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Championthe ALLSAFE cultural safety program, and Signal Energy’s Core Principles and Mission
  • Assist theSiteSafety Manager in developing and maintaining a site-specific safety plan, including emergency action,response, evacuation, and security plans.
  • Constantly solves problems and resolves issues through face to face and personal communication.
  • Physical demands include all actions required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job which include mobility on and around construction sites, ability to climb 300’ ladder, working at height, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 25 pounds
  • All other duties assigned.
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
  • Ability to learn technical and safety management aspects of all project construction activities
  • Excellent mathematical skills, including application, and use in problem solving
  • Must be able to understand, interpret, and apply regulatory requirements applicable to the project scope of work. This includes, but is not limited to, Federal and State OSHA, EPA, etc…
  • Ability to lead, influence and coordinate own and others’ actions, manage own time effectively
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently and efficiently under limited supervision while functioning as a component of the greater project team.
  • Sensitivity to problems; ability to tell or predict when something is wrong; able to revise and adapt as
  • Strong coordination, time management, active listening, verbal and written communication skills, critical thinking and reasoning skills.
  • Self-motivated, able to learn quickly and independently
  • Computer literacy and basic knowledge of MS Office
  • This position requires working outdoors in various, often extreme weather conditions including rain, snow, heat, cold, etc.
    • Candidates must be able to work in all weather conditions, as safety permits.
    • This position may also include exposure to loud noises, dust, debris, and other construction-related hazards.
Education/ Experience
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • OSHA 30 Minimum
  • OSHA 510 / OSHA 500 (both preferred but not required)
  • 2 years construction safety experience preferred
