A client in Houston, TX is seeking Field Safety Personnel to support large-scale construction projects across the region. These individuals will play a critical role in promoting safe work practices, monitoring jobsite activities, and helping ensure compliance with established safety standards. Working closely with field crews, the Field Safety Technician will provide dedicated oversight to technicians and laborers, proactively identifying potential hazards and serving as an additional layer of protection on complex, high-activity construction sites.

Key Responsibilities

Provide dedicated 1:1 Safety Watch oversight for field technicians and construction personnel working on large-scale construction projects.

Monitor active work zones and maintain constant awareness of surrounding hazards, including heavy equipment, vehicle traffic, and subcontractor activities.

Serve as an additional set of eyes in the field, helping protect workers who are focused on testing, inspections, or other tasks that may limit situational awareness.

Identify and communicate potential safety risks before incidents occur, escalating concerns to site leadership as needed.

Ensure workers are operating in accordance with established site safety protocols and project-specific requirements.

Maintain a visible presence throughout the workday, proactively monitoring changing jobsite conditions and evolving construction activities.

Support safety initiatives developed in response to past incidents and corrective actions, helping reinforce a strong culture of safety on mega projects.

Coordinate closely with project managers, field engineers, technicians, contractors, and site leadership to promote safe work practices.

Provide traffic, equipment, and pedestrian awareness for personnel working near active construction operations.

Attend safety briefings, toolbox talks, and site meetings as required.

Complete safety documentation and reports related to observations, incidents, near misses, and corrective actions.

Participate in company-provided safety training and ongoing development programs.

Day-to-Day

Remain assigned to a technician, laborer, or field crew throughout the shift as a dedicated Safety Watch.

Observe work being performed and continuously scan the surrounding area for hazards.

Monitor moving vehicles, construction equipment, subcontractor activity, and changing site conditions.

Alert workers to potential dangers and stop unsafe conditions when necessary.

Walk active construction sites, maintain communication with site leadership, and help ensure all personnel return home safely at the end of each day.
