Job summary

Mass. Electric Construction Co. seeks a Safety Specialist to implement and audit our Site Specific Safety Plan in the field.

You will report to a project Safety Manager and help enforce contract safety expectations, crane procedures, and district standards on industrial projects across the MEC network. Relocation and travel are common as MEC sites span the country; you will assist with incident investigations, safety training, and maintaining compliance with OSHA/MSHA regulations, ensuring safe,

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
• Knowledge of construction safety and current OSHA requirements.
• Certification as Safety Professional or EMT preferred.
• Working knowledge of Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, review, updating and communication of the Site Specific Safety Plan.
• Collaborate with craft daily to promote safety program buy-in and ownership.
• Exercise Stop Work Responsibility to enforce policies and work plans.
• Plan, prioritize and problem-solve with field operations using leading indicators.
• Provide safety training on policies and client requirements.
• Maintain project files compliant with OSHA/MSHA and policies.
• Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Conduct daily hazard inspections and support corrective actions.
