Job summary

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of directly related experience in railroad, transportation operations, or construction/industrial safety.
• Strong knowledge of US federal, state, local, railroad and construction safety standards and practices.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to gather, organize, analyze, and present data.

Responsibilities

• Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments to ensure OSHA, FRA, and Cal/OSHA compliance
• Perform safety reviews for construction activities and provide improvement recommendations
• Support environmental health and safety programs including hazardous materials and respirator protection
• Develop recommendations to reduce the frequency, severity, and cost of accidents and hazards
• Facilitate field safety and project meetings
• On-call rotation to respond to incidents and emergencies
• Perform other duties as assigned
