Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Field Safety Specialist for our Fresno, CA office to monitor and enforce OSHA, FRA, and Cal/OSHA requirements on California High-Speed Rail projects. You will support safety programs with contractors and project teams to promote safe, compliant work environments.

Key duties include audits, risk assessments, safety reviews of construction activities, and participation in field safety meetings; on-call incident response is available as needed. Hybrid work model offered.

Qualifications

• BA/BS plus 8 years of related safety experience or equivalent
• At least 5 years in railroad, transportation, or construction safety
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, FRA, Cal/OSHA standards
• Willingness to perform field inspections and attend meetings

Responsibilities

• Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure regulatory compliance
• Provide safety guidance and reviews for construction activities
• Support environmental health and safety programs including hazardous materials and respirator protection
• Attend field safety and project meetings and coordinate with contractors and teams
• Respond to incidents as part of on-call rotation and assist at incident sites as needed
