Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Safety Specialist I to help create, support and audit our safety programs on project sites, reinforcing our 'Nobody Gets Hurt' culture. You will report to the Project Safety Manager and help implement the Site Specific Safety Plan in the field.

Ideal candidates have 0–2 years of construction safety experience, OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, and a willingness to travel and relocate. This entry-level role offers hands-on training in a large EPC environment within the Safety Department.

Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of construction safety experience.
  • First Aid CPR certification.
  • Willingness to travel/relocate as required.
  • OSHA 30 certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, review, updating, and communication of the Site Specific Safety Plan (SSSP) to all contractors and staff.
  • Collaborate with craft personnel daily to promote buy-in and ownership of the safety program.
  • Exercise Stop Work Responsibilities to ensure adherence to policies, work plans, and safety requirements.
  • Plan and problem-solve with operations in the field based on leading indicators and upcoming work.
  • Provide safety training on policies, OSHA/MSHA, NCCER, and client requirements.
