Schedule: This position is mission critical and essential to the ongoing operations and requires a flexible schedule to support a 24/7/365-day operation.

Job Summary:

The Field Safety Specialist conducts in‑person safety and wellness checks during site visits. This role assesses home environments and overall wellness, identifies indicators of trafficking, abuse, neglect, abandonment, or other safety concerns, and documents findings in accordance with our procedures. The Field Safety Specialist maintains situational awareness, immediately escalates urgent concerns through established reporting channels, and ensures the accurate, timely, and complete submission of all required documentation. The Field Safety Specialist must demonstrate professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and strong communication skills, while consistently adhering to all safety and security protocols.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct in person field site safety and wellness checks using standardized assessment protocols.
  • Evaluate the physical environment and its occupants for indicators of trafficking, abuse, neglect, or other safety concerns.
  • Identify and document any known or newly discovered risk factors.
  • Maintain situational awareness and follow all safety procedures during field activities.
  • Verify documentation, to include sponsor identification, contact information, relationship to the minor, identify all individuals in the household, school enrollment, etc.
  • Inform individuals of their legal responsibilities, and obligations, to include explaining the importance of compliance with all release conditions, and other orders as appropriate.
  • Prepare clear, accurate, and timely written documentation of all home visit findings.
  • Ensure all reports meet quality standards and requirements.
  • Log travel details and home visits milestones in company’s proprietary system, such as communication, delays, etc.
  • Complete, document, submit and upload all required documentation, case notes and any other information within required timelines.
  • Report urgent or high-risk safety concerns or unusual findings immediately to immediate supervisor.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Ensure all actions align with safety, ethical, and operational standards.
  • Communicate professionally with families, management, and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure continuity of home visits and accurate information flow.
  • Maintain a calm, respectful, and professional approach during all interactions.
  • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and uphold the dignity of all individuals encountered.
  • Maintain situational awareness and follow safety protocols during travel and field activities.
  • Maintain required training and certifications.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and security protocols at all times.
  • Provide coaching as needed; act as a mentor and resource for recently hired staff, offering guidance on company policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Must be able to travel domestically on short notice and on a frequent basis via air and/or ground transportation.
  • Must maintain readiness to perform assigned responsibilities at temporary duty locations.
  • Stand or walk on various surfaces for extended periods of time.
  • Must be flexible to work holidays, overnight, weekends, and multiple shifts to support a 24/7 operation; work prolonged hours.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications & Skills:
  • Associate degree in an appropriate discipline from an accredited college (a high school diploma with one or more years of extra relevant experience may be substituted for an associate degree).
  • Have at least two years of documented experience in a field related to law, social work, detention, corrections, or similar occupational area; as well as certification, licensure, and credentials as applicable to the professional accreditation of the position if applicable (a minimum of three years of experience in a related field is required when a high school diploma with one or more years of relevant experience is substituted for an associate degree).
  • Demonstrate experience applicable to the goals and objectives of this program sufficient to communicate with other staff, and appropriate for a similar program environment.
  • Must be bilingual; speak, read and write in English and Spanish.
  • Requires effective communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees and customers.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to take technical direction and feedback from various sources.
  • Committed to providing outstanding customer service and representation of MVM in a professional manner.
  • Ability to travel frequently, including visiting private residences; work involves exposure to varying home conditions and environments.
  • Must be available for domestic travel.
  • Ability to pass and maintain a Government Security Background Investigation, including a favorable credit check, no criminal record, and no prior drug use.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and graveyard shifts, and working long hours.
  • Ability to carry required equipment and documentation.
  • Must possess strong computer skills in MS Office, including Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, experience working tablets and smart phone technology.
  • Possess a valid and current driver’s license with safe driving record.
  • Must meet insurance requirements, to include car rentals.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and graveyard shifts.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and report writing, preferred.
  • Ability to work under extreme pressure, be able to de-escalate situations and elevates issues appropriately.
  • Must show proof of US passport book or be in the process of obtaining one, unless specified otherwise in the contract.
Clearance:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen Ability to obtain/maintain a Security Clearance Favorable credit Check.
  • Successfully pass a background investigation, drug screen.
  • May be required to pass or present specific requirements depending on the position (i.e., DOT exam, vaccinations, CPR, flu shot).
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
  • Standing/Walking/Mobility: Must have mobility to attend meetings with other managers and employees.
  • Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: 0% - 10% of the time.
  • Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: 0% - 10% of the time, must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Fine Motor Skills/Dexterity: Must be able to write, type and use a telephone system 100% of the time.
  • Sitting: Sitting for prolonged and extended periods of time.
