Job summary

Baker Construction is seeking a Field Safety Representative II to promote the company’s IIF culture and ensure co‑workers return home safe each night. This role spends 100% of the time in the field coaching on unsafe conditions and may supervise lower‑level safety staff.

You will participate with the project team to improve safety, quality, and productivity, support training, and help reinforce positive behavior through recognition and rewards. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety or related field.
• Minimum of two years of concrete construction and safety experience or equivalent.
• Must obtain OSHA 30-hour certification within three months.

Responsibilities

• Promote the company’s IIF culture on the project as a safety resource.
• Assist in project compliance with safety rules and regulations.
• Assist with or conduct case management and ensure a safe work environment.
• Participate in training and certifications and help improve SQP with the project team.

Field Safety Representative II promotes the Company’s IIF culture by ensuring every co‑worker returns home safe each night. This role spends 100% of the time in the field observing and coaching co‑workers on the correction of unsafe conditions and behaviors. The representative may supervise lower‑level Field Safety Representatives and Coordinators, reinforce positive behaviour through recognition and rewards, answer questions about safety, share lessons learned, and actively participate with the project team to improve safety, quality, and productivity (SQP).

Roles and Responsibilities

• Promotes the Company’s IIF culture by bringing a safety resource onto the project.
• Assists in project compliance with all safety rules and regulations.
• Assists with or conducts case management.
• Ensures a safe work environment.
• Participates in training and certifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (safety‑related major) and a minimum of two years of concrete construction and safety experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must obtain OSHA 30‑hour certification within three months.
