Job summary

Panthalassa is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist in the United States (Washington) to work closely with engineers, technicians, and field crews. This hands-on role emphasizes practical safety planning, hazard identification, and risk reduction in real-time on lab, shop, and field environments.

You will develop JHAs, support incident investigations, and contribute to safety reviews as the company grows its offshore and marine-energy programs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Environmental Health & Safety across multiple domains (field, industrial, construction, manufacturing, marine).

Responsibilities

• Identify hazards and support work planning with engineers, technicians, and crews.
• Coach teams in safe practices, hazard recognition, and risk controls.
• Develop and apply Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and other risk assessment methods.
• Support safe execution of higher-risk work, including LOTO, hot work, lifting and rigging, confined-space-adjacent work.
• Contribute to HAZID/HAZOP assessments and safety reviews during engineering/design activities.
• Provide timely safety guidance and help investigate incidents.
