Job summary

The State of Michigan's Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity seeks a Workplace Safety Representative to inspect and analyze safety programs across multiple counties in Michigan. This field position requires establishing an Official Workstation for travel.

Applicants must meet education requirements and possess either high school plus safety experience or a bachelor's degree in any major. A valid Michigan driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and one of the listed safety-related criteria.
• Bachelor's degree in any major is acceptable.
• Six years of skilled trade work experience in construction or general industry, two years as a journey level worker.

Responsibilities

• Review, investigate, and analyze workplace operations, environment, tools, equipment, and processes to ensure MIOSH compliance.
• Perform work independently with minimal management supervision in accordance with industry standards to minimize safety risks.
