Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a Safety Specialist II to implement and continually improve the Safety Management System across the AES Ohio Transmission & Distribution network. The role provides leadership in safety programs, risk management, and regulatory compliance, supporting employees, contractors, and business leaders in achieving safety objectives.

The position focuses on safety culture, KPI-driven performance, incident investigations, and proactive safety activities in field operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Occupational Safety, EHS, or related field.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem‑solving skills.
• Willingness to travel regularly to field locations and sites.

Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with Health & Safety regulations and AES standards.
• Develop Annual Work Plans to meet safety objectives and KPIs.
• Participate in audits, corrective actions, and incident investigations.
• Deliver safety training for employees and contractors and evaluate effectiveness.
• Lead field safety activities, inspections, and risk analyses.
• Prepare safety performance reports and support emergency drills.
