Job summary

Waters Construction Company in Bridgeport, CT and on project sites seeks a Construction Safety Intern for Spring/Summer. This hands-on internship supports the Safety Department, gaining practical exposure to occupational health and safety management on multi-million-dollar heavy civil projects.

You'll work with field supervisors and subcontractors to promote safe work practices, assist with inspections, JHAs, toolbox talks, and safety documentation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing degree in relevant safety or engineering field.
• Strong interest in workplace safety and risk management.
• Willingness to travel to CT job sites.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with site safety inspections across multiple project locations.
• Observe operations to ensure OSHA compliance.
• Support JHAs, toolbox talks, and pre-task planning.
• Help track training records and safety documentation.
• Participate in incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Monitor subcontractor safety compliance.
• Support EHS initiatives and safety reporting.
• Record PPE audits and manage equipment inventory.
• Collaborate with field engineers and superintendents on safe practices.
