Job summary

Ryan Companies is seeking a Safety Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 at our Atlanta site. The internship runs May–August and targets full-time undergraduates. You will support the Safety Manager in implementing the Ryan Safety Program and serve as a safety tech resource for field operations.

The role involves working with Project Managers and Superintendents on health and safety issues, delivering training, and conducting site audits. Expect field time predominantly with occasional office work.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health, safety management, or related field.
• Strong interest in construction safety and field operations.
• Able to work 40 hours per week for a two-to-three-month term.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Management Team in establishing and implementing Ryan Safety and Site Safety Program.
• Assist Project Management and Superintendent in obtaining and reviewing Subcontractor Safety submittals.
• Ensure Ryan Safety Program is kept up to date and reviewed with foremen.
• Provide safety training to craft workers on safe work procedures.
• Conduct and document site-safety audits/inspections.
• Distribute safety information and provide orientation when necessary.
• Develop a safety culture and rapport with contractors and crews.
• Spend 70%–80% of time at the field site; 20%–30% in office.
