Job summary

Harris County Flood Control District is seeking a Field Safety Coordinator/Safety Technician to provide on-site safety oversight for field crews outdoors. The role includes inspections of equipment, PPE compliance, and hazard mitigation while ensuring OSHA standards are met.

You will assist with JHAs, conduct tailgate trainings, and document findings. Candidates should have 1–3 years in field ops and a valid Texas Class C license; 40-hour outdoor exposure is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 1–3 years in field operations, construction, environmental work, or safety support.
• Valid Class C Texas Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily field safety inspections of equipment, vehicles, and practices.
• Monitor OSHA standards and PPE compliance on sites.
• Assist with hazard mitigations and risk assessments before work.
• Provide field safety training and participate in drills and emergency plans.
• Document observations and support incident investigations.
