Job summary

Texas A&M AgriLife is seeking a Research Associate in Lubbock, TX to perform independent or supervisory research activities, including proposal preparation, equipment operation, and guidance of graduate students in a lab/field setting.

Responsibilities include overseeing field experiments, data collection on crops and soil, data management with SAS/R, and collaboration with faculty and staff to advance agricultural research efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Two years of related professional experience.
• Familiarity with laboratory/technical equipment.
• Ability to use a computer and software to create databases and perform statistical analyses.
• Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others.

Responsibilities

• Field Research & Data Collection: oversee field experiments, plot layout, planting, fertilization, irrigation, and harvest activities.
• Equipment & Site Maintenance: prepare and maintain field sites, calibrate and maintain equipment, support operation of tractors and sprayers.
• Data Management & Documentation: record observations, organize data, and perform statistical analyses using SAS, R.
• Research Support & Collaboration: work with faculty, project managers, and students following protocols and safety guidelines.
• General Duties: work outdoors in variable weather, travel to research sites across Texas, perform related duties.
