Job summary

American Medical Response in Independence, IA is seeking a Field Registered Nurse for a part-time/on-call role to deliver compassionate, high-quality patient care during inter-facility transport.

The ideal candidate will hold a current RN license, have ICU or ED/CCT experience, and maintain active ACLS/PALS/BLS certifications, with the ability to work independently and as part of a coordinated EMS team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• Minimum ICU RN or ED/CCT/Cardiac/Trauma RN experience.
• Active ACLS, PALS and BLS-C provider status.
• PHTLS and NRP provider certifications or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Inter-facility transfer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and determine best course of action for care during inter-facility transport.
• Provide care within RN scope of practice and per CCT procedures.
• Utilize critical thinking to support critically ill or injured patients and follow physician orders.
• Lead the crew to maintain a safe, clean, and stocked environment and monitor equipment.
• Collaborate with allied health and public safety personnel.
• Maintain required certifications and ongoing training.

IMMEDIATE HIRING! NURSE ON CALL/ PART-TIME Opportunity

$26.44 per hour for Part-Time/On Call Nurse! We’re hiring a Field Registered Nurse that is passionate about delivering compassionate, high-quality service and basic, as well as advanced patient care during inter-facility transportation of our customers.

Responsibilities

• Nurses assess and use expertise in each situation to determine the best course of action to support, monitor and treat patients in critical care situations.
• Provide care requirements aligned within the Registered Nurse scope of practice as defined by the Board of Registered Nursing and per CCT standardized procedure.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to manage the critically ill or injured adult or pediatric patient and supports physicians’ orders.
• Act as team leader and take pride in providing a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment for patients and maintains regular equipment checks and stock.
• Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow crew.
• Nurses are accountable to maintain required certifications and ongoing training required for the position.

Minimum Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Valid Driver’s License
• Current Registered Nurse license
• Minimum 2years of ICU RN or 5 years ED/CCT/Cardiac/Trauma RN experience (Non-negotiable)
• Current ACLS, PALS, BLS-C (or equivalent) provider status
• PHTLS and NRP Provider Certification (must obtain within 6 months of hire)
• ICS courses, refer to FEMA - IS-100B (ICS 100),IS-700A (NIMS)
• Critical care inter-facility transfer experience; CEN, CCRN, TNCC or ENC Certification; BTLS/PHTL
