Job summary

FieldAI is seeking a Sensor Systems Engineer to design, integrate, calibrate, and validate sensing systems on wheeled robotic platforms for federal and commercial programs. You will work with LiDARs, depth cameras, IMUs, GPS, and other sensors, ensuring synchronized data and robust performance across environments.

You will collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and software teams, optimize sensor configurations, and produce thorough documentation, calibration boards, and testing protocols.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with perception sensors (LiDAR, depth cameras, IMUs, GPS).
• Strong collaboration across electrical, mechanical, and software teams.
• Foundation in optics, signal processing, and EM wave propagation.

Responsibilities

• Design, integration, calibration, and validation of sensing systems for robots.
• Work with LiDARs, depth cameras, IMUs, GPS, and other sensors to ensure synchronized data.
• Coordinate sensor integration with USB, Ethernet, I2C, CAN, GMSL, ROS nodes.
• Develop timing diagrams, sensor maps, and coordinate transforms; maintain configs.
