Job summary

9 Mothers, a defense startup in Austin, TX, is hiring an Integration Engineer to connect our counter-drone platform with enterprise and mission systems. You will design, build, and maintain integrations with third-party platforms—most notably Command and Control (C2)—to ensure detection, tracking, and defeat data plug cleanly into a customer’s operational picture.

You’ll own the full integration lifecycle, define data contracts, test in simulated and field environments, and support deployments

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on integration engineering experience with external enterprise systems.
• Strong knowledge of APIs, messaging, and data serialization formats.
• Proficiency in at least one modern language used for integration (Python, Kotlin, C++, or C#).
• Comfort diagnosing issues across network, application, and data layers; TCP/IP expertise.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain integrations between our counter-drone system and external platforms (C2, sensor networks, etc.).
• Develop and maintain APIs, data feeds, and messaging interfaces (REST, SOAP, pub/sub).
• Implement and troubleshoot data formats and standards (Cursor-on-Target, Link 16, VMF, TAK/ATAK).
• Define ICDs and data contracts with customers and partners; translate needs into specs.
• Create and execute integration test plans including hardware-in-the-loop testing.
• Support deployments and field demonstrations, troubleshooting end-to-end.
• Produce clear integration documentation and runbooks.
