Job summary

John L. Hunter & Associates (JLHA) seeks an Environmental Compliance Specialist to implement NPDES stormwater regulations and support the day-to-day operations of the Program Manager.

The role is 70% field work with approximately 30% office tasks. Candidates must be willing to work outdoors in varying conditions and have a Bachelor’s degree in a related science field, plus MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in life, physical or environmental sciences or related field.
• Willingness to work outdoors, in harsh weather, with ability to perform heavy lifting.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to use personal vehicle for site travel.
• Residence in Southern California area.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Conduct compliance inspections for commercial sites and IGP/CGP programs.
• Investigate illicit environmental practices and assess regulatory compliance.
• Prepare detailed project reports and maintain accurate records.
• Update and maintain compliance databases and record-keeping systems.
