Job summary

Timberline Construction Group, LLC seeks an early-career Assistant Project Manager to support our Civil Division on underground utility and site preparation projects. Based in the Birmingham, Alabama area, this role requires travel about 90% with an initial assignment in Sevierville, Tennessee.

Ideal candidates are recent graduates or 1–3 years out of school with internship or field experience. You will assist with quality control, safety, documentation, and field support while coordinating with

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building Science, or related field preferred.
Recent graduate or 1–3 years out of school; internship or field experience preferred.
Exposure to heavy civil construction and site work is a plus.
Ability to read plans and specs with strong communication and documentation skills.
Experience with construction software is a plus.

Responsibilities

Support quality control plans and field inspections for conformance to plans and codes.
Coordinate submittals, testing, inspections, and site documentation.
Assist with safety audits, SSSPs, toolbox talks, and OSHA compliance.
Assist with RFIs, change orders, daily reports, and project records.
Coordinate with crews, subcontractors, inspectors, clients, and internal teams.
Review daily reports and timecards for accuracy.
Support weekly updates, cost projections, and Work Performance Reports.
Assist with subcontractor and vendor performance and scheduling exposure.
